General information about the ingredients used in this supplement product:

(This is NOT product specific and is only listed as educational material)

Glutathione is made of three amino acids cysteine, glycine, and glutamic acid. This molecule is produced in the liver and is important for the metabolism and immune response. This protein is also known as gamma-Glutamylcysteineglycine and GHS. Glutatione is found in two forms, reduced glutathione, a single molecule of the protein and oxidized glutathione, which is two of the single molecules joined together. The reduced glutathione, monomer, is the active form of glutathione.

Functions of Glutathione:

Glutathione functions as the major endogenous antioxidant produced by the cells, it helps with neutralization of free radicals and reactive oxygen compounds, and maintains exogenous antioxidants like vitamins C and E in their reduced form. Glutathione also detoxifies both organic and inorganic foreign compounds and carcinogens. The antioxidant effect of glutathione keeps cells running smoothly.

Symptoms of Glutathione Deficiency:

Glutathione deficiency is connected to just about every single degenerative disease and illness. Glutathione deficiency is characterized by severe metabolic acidosis, hemolytic anemia, and neurological problems. If we have too low levels of glutathione in our cells, we are not as able to efficiently fight off illnesses and diseases, so we tend to get sick, age faster, and over a period of time develop serious degenerative diseases.

Good Food Sources of Glutathione:

Good food sources of glutathione are meats, poultry, and fruits and vegetables like tomato, watermelon, grapefruit, oranges peaches and cantaloupe, avocado, potato, spinach, okra, acorn squash, and asparagus.
