Acetyl-L-Carnitine is an amino acid or an essential nutrient found in the body. The body uses this amino acid for transporting fat into the cell mitochondria where the fat is transformed into energy. The highest concentration of Acetyl L-Carnitine is found in tissues that use fatty acids as the prime dietary fuel, such as the cardiac and skeletal muscles.
